well today i finally decided to remove my rear view mirror because the base of it was loose and causing a lot of noise. well, upon removal i discovered that not only was the base of it loose but that i also have a 2" crack on the rear view mirror mounting support. it's in a shitty spot too so i don't think i'll get it welded.

i decided to just keep the mirror off since i don't use it. pic!

my trunk lid is also getting much much worse. i am at the point where i need to find a welder soon. the trunk lid has cracked soo bad that water has managed to make it into the trunk and setting on my box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

laws vary from state to state, but in most states you only have to have 2 functioning mirrors, and as long as has side mirrors I don't think it would matter.

Do you think guys with camper shells get pulled over because they cant see out of there rear view?

i was about to say the same thing about pick ups with campers that block the 3rd mirror.

I believe the law is your vehicle must have all the safety equipment installed that came with it. The only mirror sometimes not installed in "cars" is a passenger side mirror.

i've never seen a car with a passenger side mirror that is not installaed and comes that way from the factory. that right there, is more dangerous with lane changes than not having the center rear view.

If you really care, you can pick up a replacement mirror from auto zone... like 10 bucks and comes with a new "metal" piece that you glue to the window... There is a special glue to use, but you can put it right beside the old one and the new mirror will cover up the old "metal" piece... We had to do it at work to one of out 08 Chargers that the mirror got shattered and didn't feel like waiting on a new mirror from dodge... It works fine still....

Edit, just noticed yours is in the headliner... guess you can't hide the old one, but you could have a new mirror //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ...again, if you care.
