SLOW LOUD AND BANGIN'
Sorry it is,

I dont have a huge system by any means but I do want to have the luxury of watching movies and listening to music on my lunch break. Of course I want do this with the vehicle off and im worried about draining my battery.

I dont really want to add a extra battery I just want to upgrade my main battery to something that would let me enjoy a few episodes of my fav tv shows on my lunch break.

Would you guys recomend a Red Top or a Yellow Top? I know the Red Tops are the starting ones and the yellows are the slow draining ones or whatever but it just seems like Im having a hard time comming across one for a resonable price. A guy has a Red Top locally for like 80 will this do? Thanks

underhood + red top = you will be fine

as long as you are standing on it at high volumes you wont need an isolator either. i can run my system about 1/2 volume for ~1hr or so with no worries

When i use to have just a single Red top, ive played my system with my old truck off for 3 hours (at moderate volumes), it cranked right up no problem.
That what I wanna hear, Im not looking to crack it by anymeans just looking to watch a few tv episodes to pass the time

You'd be better off with a deka or a powermaster. But if you go optima, get the yellow or blue. They're more designed for the long power drain with no charge and will have a longer life than if you use a red top in that fashion.

ok thanks, is it cool to use the dekas as starting batteries? I always thought that they should be your second battery?
