pfffff

the amp will be fine. in fact it will be better now that it smoked to hell. my god i love being smart.

and the bedroom looks better in person... the colors are a lot warmer, the flash of the camera makes it look ghey //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

metal debris (debreeeee) discolorization on caps , browning of resistors, look to see if speaker leads touched somehow some way and last but not least pinched wire...those kinds of things. in my par eq my plug had a mil or so of the conductor inside sticking out the back and it touched metal (yes tempo's actually had metal in the dash lol)

lol tempos. i'll give it a thorough inspection right now. i'll let you know if anything looks discolored or debris'ed or wire touching. thanks bondo-man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yea i just checked it all out.. nothing looks in any way shape or form different from what i believe it should look like...

and upon further inspection, one of the mosfets got so **** hot it oozed it's insides out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Scott didn't offer any other reason than low impedance, high temperature, or age on the mosfets. Scott is the resident amplifier guy, right?

look at the speaker wires yank the speakers out move the cones. rattle the wire makes sure nothing can touch metal. you havent had time to check very much not trying to be a dick but when you fix it you want it fixxed not half arsed

Think I might have the same problem. I turned on my car and I got this really heavy funky *** smell like someone farted or something, then quickly shut off my car and check my amps. Turns out the ground wire was half exposed for my sub amp (memphis 1000d)!! ok, so I reinstalled everything and it turns on like normal with the green light on, no protection mode or fuse light was on. Now sounds like my sub wasn't as powerful as it was before my reinstall, but that might be becuase I turned off the gains. Should I be worried something in my amp is fried?

lol and ya adidas might as well bust out the magnifing glass thats how well you should inspect it alot of times what you think "should be there" shouldnt and what should be isnt. i have seen resistors pop to the point of there were just 2 leads and no resistor lol and seen that with caps...in fact i seen the old boss tanky looking demo vehicle blow up ai gallon paint can sized cap (oldschool 10 farad) that sounded like a shot gun and smelled like a cross between a rubber factory and a fertilizer plant burning lol
