Hey all, I got back from the USAMPS factory today and met the owner, Mr. Daniel Kim (my uncle), the Sales director, Mr. Jeff Coleman (some of you probably know of him), and the head engineer (CO-started USAMPS and designs all of the boards.) Mr. Dirk Ecker.

But umm okay first off I wanted to say that these amps are AMAZING. I ain’t all that electronics savvy, but from what I saw over there, and the genious of mr. ecker, these boards are TOP OF THE LINE. Jeez I never knew so may companies use Korean built cookie cutter amps.

Where should I start? Here is a lil something to get ya started:

PRETTY Sexay eh??

Now for the Q/A I will be posting a little bit per day due to the magnitude of the questions

Group buy??

Don’t know yet, stop buggin me about that.

Are the new amp lines (AX, IS, Merlin) an add-on to the previous lines or are the new lines going to replace the old?

The old lines are going to be discontinued, but they are still using the left-over boards from FL in the new heatsinks. But they are going to make all new boards sometime in 2006.

Who designs the internals/boards?

Dirk Ecker. He has been with USAMPS since it started. This man I would have to say is a GENIOUS. Just talk to him and you know this guy knows his stuff. He’s working on a special project rite now, and it will blow your minds away. Mr. Ecker, I guess invented parallel amps or something like that, I forgot. All ya’ll electronics junkies will have a hay day talking with him.

Where are the amps assembled/made?

I will answer this to the best of my understanding. Well, as stated before, they are designed by Dirk and sends the designs overseas. The boards are then made in China/Korea, all the little minute parts of the circuitry is inserted, sent back to America where the big stuff such as the toriods, tubes, and transistors etc. are put in and the amp is assembled. The IS line is the only imported line, and it is imported from China. So all in all USAMPS are still being designed and assembled in the good ol US of A.

That’s all for today…. Ill keep ya updated

i just hate the price tag on those amps. if they werent so much i may have picked one up
