***Official Obama Screwed the Pooch Thread***

Excellent motivator. But yes, this is scary. Some fun news I heard this morning about the Chief of Staff, not paying any property taxes on his million dollar home because he and his wife moved a charitable organization into a home office setting in their house. Remember, this is the leader of the team who is raising taxes on us all, and his boss (our VP) says it is patriotic to pay taxes. Kind of ironic when it is being told by the people in power that it is our civic duty to foot the bill for people who made bad choices, while the people in power are protecting those who made the bad choices are not even paying taxes past or present. Also something still very interesting how a junior/freshmen member of congress is the second of the highest benefactors of donations.......

This fix was in a long time ago, and the American public fell for it, just beyond angry that those who did not want or vote for this are being hurt by those who did, (keeping in mind, a massive portion of the focus of the Obama campagin concentration was on college students or young adults, most of whom pay little to no taxes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What I find funny is the easier things to do like keeping an eye on spending and keeping lobbyists out of his admin were not done yet Cap and Trade, governmental control of some businesses and health care are all on the table. He has done nothing good yet but to try to pass an agenda.

In Elkhart Indiana he wants them to build a by pass for a stimulus. That is fine and dandy and is actually a good thing to help attract different businesses there but what incentives are there to put businesses anywhere? The city is still losing jobs. IMO he is half stepping it.

Also in the direction we are going makes me wonder of of something Glen Beck said (I do not really agree much with Glen on anything but his basic principles). Is the saying "We the people" being replaced with "Us our government"?

You are all invited to post Obama's failures as they occur.
Let me start with:

The nomination of Gov. Bill Richardson for the position of commerce secretary.

Again, the purpose of this thread is to capture in one place Obama's follies. This is not the place for saying positive things about Obama. Nor is it appropriate to say bad things about the GOP here.
Obama is great, GOP sucks.

Obama is great, GOP sucks.
Parties are not entirely of what is bad it is individuals...besides liking how he speaks what good has Obama done except go in debt more and faster than Bush? Also before you straight finger point and blame it on GOP about the economy also know they did some "modernizing" of the markets as Clinton was leaving office .... There were a lot of Dems who just sat back and did nothing and fought to stop regulation just to look better than the GOP now. THAT IS WHAT PISSES ME OFF. That cost a lot of people a lot of money and jobs.

1 trillion dollars to bail out banks who made bad loans, that is probably gonna be his biggest mistake so far, we can't just continue to go further into debt to bail out these bank morons.

Anybody else think this stinks like shit?

Geithner seeks new powers over financial companies

WASHINGTON – Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner called on Congress Tuesday to grant him new powers to regulate huge financial companies like insurance giant AIG, whose failure would pose a grave danger to the U.S. financial system and the broader economy.
Specifically, Geithner wants powers similar to those of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which has authority to seize control of banks, take over their bad assets and sell good ones to competitors....

...Geithner made it clear he believes the treasury secretary should be granted unprecedented power, after consultation with Federal Reserve Board officials, to take control of a major financial institution and run it. The treasury chief is an official of the administration, unlike the FDIC, which is an independent regulatory agency.

LOL then he can decide who pays taxes and who can't? You also realize they are talking about doing STRICT pay scales that would go right down the line from CEO's to low in line mail delivery at a big business right?

Its pretty obvious that we the people are dumb, we better give Obama and crew control of everything so we quit failing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I wonder if this passes if Geithner would ever deem an institution "at risk" and put the bad assets on the gov's tab and sell off the positive assets to people in his pocket at deep discounts.

I'm sorry but the trust just is not there on this one, it screams future corruption in my eyes.

You see what they are doing with AIG...tell me they can run a company never the less 100's of companies. AIG is suing the government BTW LOL. The reason why every thing seems to be a wreck was in Clinton's last year they "modernized" the markets without any regulation. It is the very least shows incompetence from those who are in power and were on committees who should have know WTF was going on as they talked to Clinton himself. Now they take no responsability for anything and DIDN'T do a **** thing until they won congress to do everything exactly how they wanted...they had the audacity to say they fixxed it everything propper in August and September 2008 to have it crash in October.....All this was was a very expensive very desprate thing to do to force "change"
