Denver fans have now seen two sides of Kyle Orton. They've enjoyed his absolute best and for the last couple of weeks they've seen the norm. Just wait until you see him at his worst.

Orton's early 2009 performance is not a fair representation of his NFL career thus far. Sure, he has an above average win/loss ratio, but a large portion of that is due to solid defense and stellar special teams play. Kyle is terrible for dumping the ball off when receivers are open down the field & at times he stares holes through WRs. He's beginning to show signs of both of these things in Denver.

For the last two weeks Orton has showed why he was never really "the guy" in Chicago. He lacks leadership, accuracy, arm strength, field awareness and mobility, and it's beginning to show it's head in Denver as we speak. He can be serviceable within the right system, and Denver's first 6 games are a shining example of that, but Kyle's never going to be the kind of guy who can consistantly be relied upon when your back is against the wall.

I wouldn't call for Kyle's head on a pike just yet, but McDaniels had better start looking for his replacement...

They already have his replacement, 6th round pick Tom Brandstater. That guy is awesome!
