***Offical 08/09 NBA thread!***

that info is stale, Rex was interviewed by Travis Heath around 8:30 tonight and he said he couldn't wait to get Dice suited up, he also said Denver had NO plans of buying him out...
The article was done at 10:02 PM Mountain time, so that would be 14 minutes ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Nuggets director of basketball operations Mark Warkentien announced that the team had released veteran forward Juwan Howard to free up a roster spot. It is likely that Howard will be re-signed, however. Sources close to the Nuggets said the team plans to buy out McDyess's contract, leaving him free to re-sign with Detroit. It was necessary for Denver to get McDyess in the trade to match salaries.

There was talk the Nuggets might buy out the remainder of McDyess' contract and he could eventually return to the Pistons, but Rex Chapman, Denver's vice president of player personnel, said McDyess would stay with the team. It would mark McDyess' third tenure with the Nuggets.
rocky mountain news

meh, whatever...we'll see what plays out...Im laughing though if they refuse a buyout...

Too bad Iverson won't lead the Pistons to a championship....

BTW, Bosh isn't going anywhere. Unless the Raptors fall to pieces as an organization, he isn't moving by 2010.

I wish Brand stayed with the Clippers.

McDyess will probably end up back in Detroit. That is usually how these things work out, unfortunately.

why the hell is baron davis so fragile //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

and like everyone else i wish brand stayed with the Clippers instead of going back on his words. I'm gonna have to go to the Clippers vs. Sixers game and boo the hell out of him

This trade helps the Pistons in the future more then anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Why are you certain Bosh would stay in Toronto? Detroit offers a better chance at getting to the finals and a max contract.

It was his agent who screwed the whole thing up. I've been waiting for the Clippers to emerge for about 10 years now, and it seemed like this was the season it would happen.

David Falk, to the rescue.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

yea, that's what everyone was saying. David Falk has always been a snake pretty much. At least now Mike Dunleavy is taking the GM role and maybe will be able to make some good deals around 2010. He needs to have a more aggressive offense though, watching their offense break down against a Nuggets defense was just sad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Ultimately the Clippers just need a new owner

Detroit offers a slightly better chance this year. Will they by 2011?

Besides, Bosh is in love with Toronto. The Raptors are the default NBA team of choice up here, and thus they get most of the media coverage. A couple friends who are close to Bosh have said he wants to stay in Toronto for his entire career.

well Detroit will be able to score points in the 4th quarter now, at least this season, AI brings that 4th quarter scoring they needed...they gain it at the big loss of Billups, but he was beginning to decend...I still wouldnt have traded him though I dont think...its all about the future...

Dont be so sure about Bosh there my friend, he's been frustrated for a while...JO has been helping out so far, but lets not forget how pricey and how injury prone JO is...hopefully it works though, I like me some Bosh...

as for Brand, David Falk dont play no games, something went down...dude aint labeled the most powerful man in sports for nothing...

LOL slightly better then Toronto? Ben Wallace supposedly loved Detroit and went to where the cash was. Toronto is no better then 5th in the east behind Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, and Orlando. I think the Pistons may make a run at Boozer this offseason and try for Lebron in 2010.

I said slightly better because neither the Pistons nor the Raptors are likely to win ECF, and both organizations will be in a different position in the summer of 2010. Think for a minute before orgasming over the Pistons for the 100th time.

Billups had better leadership and was more of a team player and AI has that bit of immaturity that can hurt a team. Though he hasn't shown that much of late. Perhaps i'm wrong, like how Yao Ming thought of Artest when he went to the Rockets.
