I agree that the 2nd team with have some tough matchups for a lot of clubs. I liked West when he first came in, but he just seems too streaky for me. Sometimes he's on his game and knocks down the tough midrange jumper, but other times he's just lacking offensively(and still trys to force the issue even though he's not the first, or even second, option on the court). I just don't think he knows his role on the team yet...

I must say though at times he plays VERY well offensively, and always does a good job on D from what I've seen.

Yeah he is very streaky, hence I think Parker will compete for the starter spot as he is a decent ball player.

West is very good on D though, but Parker is too, but from watching West a lot he is a hustler, like Andy V and that is always a good thing to have on your team.

Either or, it will work. West has played off the bench before.

A win for the Magic for sure.
Dallas indeed did get worked, but both teams are solid.

Parker signed today with the Cavs for 3 years and we are tyring to resign Wally world, so we are doing good too. Wish it was another big man, but this will do.

They did say they are working on something else, but who knows.

Parker signed a 2 year $6 million dollar deal BTW, the 2nd year is an option too...Parker will be a strong signing for them, West while crafty and able to hold his own even against some bigger guys, isn't near as efficient as a guy like Parker, who embodies efficiency. Parker is not huge by any stretch, but at 6'6 and with his build he is able to do more work from the outside in, he's not as big on posting up as he used to be, but still very deadly on the mid-point post up and he runs screens like a mad man, 2nd best screen guy next to Ray Ray in the league...The downfalls would be that he does most of his work with the ball, I'm not sure yet if the Cavs are going to continue their give the ball to the LeBron approach or if bringing in Parker is another attempt to alleviate the load, also, Parker is getting OLD...overall, very good signing for Cleveland...

Maybe the Mavs can sign Ben Wallace if he doesnt retire.

that wouldn't be a very good singing, not unless you were looking for that last little veteran piece...you guys need FC help, not FC band aids...the off season is far from over...it's not near as bad as you might think it is...this is just another lesson in the same subject for Cuban, you don't sign restricted free agent's to offer sheets during the first few days of free agency, tying up all of your money for a week...this is the 3rd off season in a row that he's done this, and the 3rd time it has back fired...you would think he would learn...either way, far from over...Cuban said last night that they're talking to Odom, since Odom and the Lakers are stalling out apparently, obviously Odom is nice, not the piece I would go for, consider the 5 spot is the Mavs weakest link...pretty crappy how bad Dampier is, and his MASSIVE contract really screws up the works...

Yeah there are rumors of a sign and trade with Howard and Odom trading places. That would truly bring mixed feelings for me due to being a Lakers fan first and I would think Dallas would clearly win on that trade. Dallas definitely needs size and there isnt much out there currently.

The other rumor is a sign and trade to Miami Beasley for Odom. I would like that much better but truly doubt either happens at this point in time.

where are these rumors coming from? I have not seen anything of the nature...whomever has conjured those things up has no understanding of the collective bargaining agreement and zero foresight...

Odom cannot be S&T'd for Beasley, not outright, Beasley would have to be packaged in order for that to work, Kupchak doesnt seem that retarded either...and Howard to the Lakers for Odom? So Howard behind Kobe and Artest? that makes a ton of sense...

either way, Odom to Dallas doesn't make much sense, but i in terms of stockpiling talent, it's not the worst move...but I'll call it now, if he does end up in Dallas, it wont be via a S&T...

Blair lost about 35-40 lbs and made his summer league debut yesterday and had a double double in 15 minutes. Blake Griffin went for 27-12 including hitting a 3 pointer from the top of the key.

I never said it would happen. If I was a betting man I still think he stays in LA.

Im not mad at Orlando for signing him either, it is their money.

It definitely helps keep them in the Eastern elite but I highly doubt it brings a title.

there is no way Blair is down to 235-245lbs, they said he's down to about 265lb, i'd say about 20lb loss since leaving Pitt...he went for 13 points and 10 boards in 22 minutes...either way, he did look pretty good, both days physically and on the court...he will be a steal for sure...not even a question for me...

Ahh, I guess it was 2 years for parker.......still for the money, I think it is a good signing for them. He is older anyway, so nothing wrong with that.

I see him really giving West a run for his money for the starting job.

I guess he was a 2 time MVP over in Europe.........and his numbers were not even amazing. Maybe they play differently there? I don't know, but they were like 14/4/3 IIRC. Not MVP numbers.......

I think he is a good signing.

Would be nice to get Odom, but I don't see that happening.

Quite a few nice pieces out there. Cleveland says they are not done, but I am not holding my breath.
