***Offical 08/09 NBA thread!***

Congrads to the Lakers, but better hope the Cavs come back because you would honestly fair better going against us........although in a long series, I think we could beat you guys. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I just don't think we will get there. Time for Cleveland to **** it up and pull this out...........probably ends tonight, lawl!

Congrats to the Orlando Magic. Right before the All Star break all the fuss was about the Cavs and the Celtics in the East with Orlando being considered and over achieving team. They were considered a good team but I don't think too many people thought they had what it took to win the East. Then, Jamir Nelson goes down and then NO ONE thought they had what it took. But then Kevin Garnett went down which basically ended the C's hopes for a repeat. In fact, it changed the whole complexion of the Eastern Conference playoffs. But injuries are part of the game and as a Celtic's fan I make NO excuses. The C's were beaten, end of story. Now that the Magic have moved on to even beat the Cavs is a mystery. The Magic are a good team but I really didn't think they'd win this series so convincingly. I mean if weren't for a Lebron miracle 3 pointer it would have been a sweep.

All in all, hats off to the Magic for winning the East. Now go kick Kobe's fuckin ***. I hate him.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

X2 on the congrads. I was really hoping we would play you guys in the championship game because we matched up better against you guys, but oh well, we still had a good year and it is a bummer.......as I really thought this was the year. We indeed do need a big man as Z is old, beat up and can't hang down low with the younger centers in the league. He just got pwnt by Howard! Granted Howard is the best center in the league, but there are others who could have defended him better. Say get another good big man in there and either get rid of Wallace or Z, which will be sad, as I really like Z. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Doubt much will happen though, unless we get rid of some big contracts like Wally world and others from the bench that didn't do shit in this series........Hell Mickael Pietrus pwned our bench himself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

With that said, I don't think the Magic beat us so convincingly. Remember the 1st game we lost by a couple pts, then we won by 1 on a last shot, then lost by 10 at their home and lost by 2 again IIRC. So there is two games there we could have.....IMO should have won and totaled 4 pts. So that is not very convincing IMO. Those two close games could have just as eaisly went our way if we shot better free throws, or got off better shots.

But.......the old saying, coulda, woulda.......comes into play. We lost, simple as that because honestly the Magic are a better team overall. Better shooters, rebounders and just seemed like they wanted it more. From the very get go in this series we didn't look like ourselves. Our team chemistry was way down compared to usually and people that we counted on in the season were non existent............and then there is Mo Willams, who I thought would have done a lot better, but I never thought he would be a Brons Pippen, but could have put them over the hump and it hasn't. They need someone else.......someone like a PF or another good center.......then maybe next year.......I only could hope. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

By the way go Magic, lol!

Got to go for them now as my wife is pulling for the Lakers............why, because if I lose, she don't have to watch any football with me this year, lawl! Not that she has to anyway........she just likes the big screen better than the 37" flat screen in the bedroom. Grrrrr!

Yes, my wife hates........really hates football. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Oh and my loud as friends that come over and watch it.

LOL Disney World is in the finals. ESPN probably went into cardiac arrest when Bron Bron got knocked out of the playoffs. I heard one talking head on ESPN say Orlando should've beat Boston in no more than 5 games, and would get swept by Cleveland. Another (Jon Barry) said Orlando would blow the 3-1 series lead, which they have done in the past. I bet the KIA NBA Shoot Around crew is jumping out of the studio into Time Square. Speaking of jumping out of buildings, I wonder what that colored Cleveland weather man is doing?

Orlando posses a matchup problem for everyone. They have 2 bigs that shoot 3's and can do everything inbetween and a power center. As long as the guards play well they are a hard team to beat unless they aren't hitting shots.

Correct. If they are hitting their 3 pointers they are VERY hard to beat. Lakers will have a hard time with Orlando.

man, can't even explain how exciting it is to have the Magic in the finals...the last time this happened I was a freshman in HS I think...and we got swept, kind of hoping that doesn't happen again, pretty sure it wont...looking forward to a heck of a series...
