***Offical 08/09 NBA thread!***

well we're talking about starting PG's and $ here though, so Nash was relative...
well we haven't played a game without Nelson since the injury, tonight will be the first game...am I for staying pat? I dont know yet...we are "stacked" at the 2, so Lee can move to the 1, he was brought here as a PG hopeful, so he will get his shot tonight, even though LAC isnt much of a test...I think Stan and Otis are going to play it by ear while still working the field trying to find a deal...we did go 4-1 earlier in the season without Nelson, the one loss came to Boston, and we were also down 3 other guys at that time...It's not like Orlando is devoid of talent, Rashard, Hedo, Dwight, Pietrus and Lee, they have plenty of guys that can go to work still...just need to make some adjustments...

the thing about this team is, they wont pull the trigger unless they are 100% satisfied...now ask me if I would trade some expirings for Earl Waton? sure, solid PG, takes care of the ball, creates for himself, can shoot, plays D, will slash and kick out, pretty much fits our system...will I unload a bunch of pieces and or jeopardize out off season? no...this team is working towards a chip, and has done so progressively for the last 3 off seasons, next off season will be crucial for us in re-signing Hedo and bringing in another FA...we wont be able to do that if we brought in Felton, Miller, Udrih or Hinrich...

plus that guy is going to have to go to the bench once Nelson returns, not many starters are happy about that...

as for Tinsley, whoa, yea, shootings, robberies, why do you think he's been told to stay away from the team this season?

I know we are talking bout starting PG's, but Nash...............I could understand the others as they wouldn't come with as huge of a payday.

Example, look at the Pistons when they lost the floor general in Billups. Who is doing well? Denver........ people listen to him, he can manage a game and is good at what he does. D has a young PG in Stuckey, who will be good with time, but is young and needs experience and their team is stacked with talent, but can't win like they used too. Prince, Hamilton, Iverson, Wallace and a young PG and they are struggling.

Kinda like Nelson is your guys floor general and people relate to him well. We will see how you do, but I think you guys obviosly won't be the same without him.

No idea what you are talking about.
LeBron didnt really get that last rebound...Ben Wallace tapped it to him, so it should be counted as a team rebound...oh well, not a biggie...

Such crap that Allen made it over Willams......................
Mo does so much for his team and is a lot of the reason we are where we are.
well the way that Stern picks is they choose the player with the next highest amount of votes, Ray Allen had substantially more than Williams I believe...

And I know Allen does too, but he has been there many times and Willams has really surged the Cavs to where we are.
Take him away and Cleveland would be a 6 to 7th seed, not #2 and so close to #1.
6-7 seed? c'mon now, that's a bit of a stretch, they werent a 6th-7th seed that year or the year before...

Meh, he got it and well deserved........

I thought the coaches picked the reserves. Votes are by the fans and they only pick the starters.

With the way Atlanta, Miami have played this year, I could see it. Maybe 5th. Also I feel this is our best shot at a title with him in the mix. Without him, I see the same playoff stretch we have had.

He's not as good as Allen is anyways.

you're right, but Allen isnt a reserve, he's and injury substitution, and those are picked by Stern...now it looks like he will have to find subs for Bosh and Chris Paul...

You are such a homer anymore. Sad as you used to be a cool dude to talk too.

Not even fair to compare them.............a 2 guard to a pt. guard.

Don't get me wrong, Allen is an amazing player, I just think a point guard should of replaced a point guard. So I guess Jameer Nelson is better than Allen........

Gotcha.

Bosh is day to day and Paul will probably sit out, but I think he will return to make it, if not, he will back shortly after.

Sucks, as I really like Paul.

I am more pissed about the fact I need to find another center in my fansty league. They are saying the Bucks Bogut might be out the remainder of the year. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

well Bosh's knee is sprained, no structural damage, but they are saying they expect him out for a week or so possibly, guess it just depends on how he feels...Granger should be shutting it down right now himself, but he's being stubborn and playing on it, which I cant fault...

yea, poor Bucks man, they lose Redd (again), leaving them short on SG's, Bogut goes down possibly for the year, they trade their backup PG to Orlando today for a starting SG and their starting PG goes down for 4-6 weeks...cursed I say...

Would you just relax. You talk about me getting riled up?? I guess it didin't dawn on me that they're different positions. But I didn't replace him with Allen. It's also not Ray Allen's fault. I guess when they looked at the votes they just chose the next highest vote getting guard. Don't know and don't really watch the all-star game anyway. I Nelson is still young and will have a great career if he can get and stay healthy.

Oh and YES I am still cool to talk to.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
