Odd project

I'm not 100 percent sure on the size of the rear speakers, but since you have decided to go a different route I guess it doesn't matter. If you still need to know just take off the door panels and check. If you need help with this let me know. Also, dynamat isn't going to fix a lot of the rattles that you'll encounter. If you are irritated easily by rattles, like I am, then you are going to have to take a lot of panels off and work on things like the clips that hold the panel to whatever it mounts to. Subaru uses some good clips that don't seem to break, but they can get noisy. I took off all of the clips and put a layer of black silicone on where the clip and panel meet. This will help a lot. There are a lot of cheap and simple (not always easy, but simple) things that you can do that will help your car sound better. Good luck! I recommend to amps, it'll probably give you more flexibility, especially if you decide to make any changes to your system down the road.

Unless you find a five channel amp that provides how much power you need for a set of components on two of the channels at 4 ohms, two channels that provide how much power you need for a set of components AND the 4'' speakers at 2 ohms, and then another channel that provides how much power you need for both your subwoofers at an impedance possible for the voice coils of your subs, then you will need more than one amp.

The odds of finding one amp that will support the varying levels of power and impedance you'll need are very slim.

Assuming that the 4'' speakers handle about the same amount of power as the component sets, it wouldn't be too hard to find a 4-channel amp that can run one set of comps at 4 ohms with the proper power, and then another set of comps and the 4'' speakers on the remaining channels at 2 ohms, since typically in amps when the impedance is cut in half the power doubles, which would be exactly what you need. Then you'd just need to find an amp for your subs and you'd be all set.

gi joe,

Can you help me out with that whole silicon thing you were saying to get rid of rattling? I don't understand exactly what you did where you did it or how you did it. haha
