o/1g -> D.Block -> 8g -> AMP :: GROUND??

Let's see if anyone understood my title-gram.. I have a rockford fosgate amp that only takes 8awg wire. I stripped the wire count from 0/1 awg wire so that it would jam into the 8awg holes but I don't like that... so I got a distribution block and ran 0/1 into 8 and then ran it into the amp...

But for the ground will I need 0/1 wire? or can I just run 8awg wire from the amp? Should I just get another D.Block and if I do does a Ground block differ in any way from a regular distribution block or can I use any?

yea that might be a problem... the distro block I've got isn't fused.. maybe I bought a grounding distro block or something?

Gget a block that can change 1/0 to 4 or 8 gauge. Is it a direct input type connection or terminal strip? (terminal strip usually has phillips screws) If terminal strip there are crimp connectors that make 4 gauge wire fit a #8 screw
