As for Spitzer - I guess it wouldn't be so bad if he never would have (allegedly) expensed parts of his "entertainment" and just kept it all coming out of his own pocket.
What's funny is the mayor of the lovely Michigan city I live near is also undergoing scrutiny for putting various questionable charges on the city's tab.
But the same thing goes for both – if private life issues were kept private and away from the public's check book, the public would have been none the wiser, and they could continue doing the job they were elected to do.
Personally, I don't care what a guy does in his private life so long as the matter I voted him in to do is being done well, subjectively speaking.
