Number of question about the Massive DMX15

Well I am on a hunt for the perfect woofer. I came across the Massive DMX15 and been researching it. I have a number of concerns with running this monster.

1) Will all the power it demands just wipe out my truck's battery life running a stock alternator? (thinking about using 3000-4000W)

2) How do you wire their quad voice coils?

3) All in all, is it overkill?

4) Feel free to give me some other good/bad info about the DMX's

Any other comments about it will be appreciated.

Answers to your questions :

1. Maybe... I used an 80 amp stock Jeep Cherokee alternator with 4 Alphacell 180Gxl AGM Broadband batteries with two Visonik 4000xd's on it, and I really had no issues.

2. You just treat the sub like two seperate woofers in wiring it. You could wire an amp per two coils, or wire the entire sub down to .25 ohms if ya want or just wire it to one ohm.

3. No such thing as overkill. Everyone gets a sub for a period of time and thinks they need bigger. At least you're starting out big first //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

4. I loved my DMX prototype. The sub could take a beating and keep on putting up good numbers on the termlab. I love that you can just recone the sub by taking it apart and not using a single drop of glue. I think you can see a bunch of pictures of the dmx in action if you check out my Myspace link in my signature. All in all, Massive audio equipment is great stuff, but the company is piss poor on promoting and sales - but that has really nothing to do with the product which is great. More people should be using Massive, but most are too chickenshit to try a semi-new brand.

But here are a few random pics of me using my DMX
