Now what?

Go back to school. I know it sounds impossible, but there are ways. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif My old lady was tired of her job and i told her to head back to school and we had to find a way to make it happen. We live on absolutely nothing and sacrificed everything to make it happen. Well turns out, if you live in 16 of the counties in this part of the state (northeastern), they will pay for you to go to school for two years at a community college, and give you an extra $1,000 a semester just to do it. So we moved and she is on the Dean's list. You can do it, and the power an education gives you over your employer cannot be underestimated. Instead of being replaceable, you are a necessity that cannot be replaced and they will pay you to stay.
This is the reason I will always have a job! If I lost my job and could not find another one I would go to every business, and sell myself to them, I know for a fact I can walk into most businesses and find someone there that I could do their job better wheather its a janitor or programming cnc machines. I will dig a ditch quicker, I will do your roof, I will do what ever you need me to do and I will do it as efficient as possible. These days you need to get out there and be proactive, and show why you are better than the next guy.

Ive done the night school thing, and gotten certifications, as well as State Licensed, ect, and seems like alot of BS.But, I do have the option of opening my own business with the education, and certs/ect.So, yes extra schooling helps, and will better your horizons, yet, choose a field of NEED, and you will prosper.LOL,Im working on the end of busting my A S S on a daily basis since i was 14.Almost there.Try looking toward a Union Trade also,as they pay for your education for the field also.

I hear ya, I have 2 degrees that are worth nothing, but my business degree and mathematics degree are worth it. My old lady is becoming a medical Assistant, and after 2 years, she will start off earning $40,000 to $60,000 a year. Not too shabby for a 2 year degree and in a field at the top of demand lists across the country. I will say being a registered dietician has helped me absolutely none. No company will pay for one when you can pay for a LPN to do the same thing for less. So that field was kinda phased out.

I will always say though, an education can open opportunities not available or possible with just a high school education. Cause just like Brooklynjoy2008 said, I would hire a college educated janitor over an uneducated one

Find a way down to Texas (Port Arthur area) or North Dakota and get a job as a survey grunt. It's about 13/hr. starting but that's not the good part. You get $140 a day per diem and guaranteed 60 hours a week. Any place where there is a natural gas or oil shale play is going to pay well. You'll get hazed like crazy the first month or so but if you make it through you're all good. My 2 cents.....

If it were me, i'd join the Army. Its a win-win gig there unless you get sent to some fucked up place overseas. And even then, its not too bad. Air force would be 2nd choice, they're generally fuckups though.

well, my boss worked it out to where i just got a really bad write up but i am getting to keep my job, but i am still going to go for the army though like snoop dan said..
Write up is another saying that you are on the Main **** LIST.Best look for another job.One min. late and your *** is gone/insubordination.
