Noticable difference or waste of time?

I’ve got a few questions and need some advice or experience. I’ve done some searching but wanted some opinions too. I have two 15" AA Avalanche in a sealed 4.2 ft3 enclosure in the trunk of my CL firing towards the rear wired at .5 ohm on an IA 20.1. It sounds really good and fairly but I’m considering changing it up a bit. One of the 15s has a problem with the surround and will need a recone. I also have a 12 inch Ava in my garage not in use. My question is should I get the 15 reconed as a 12 and run two 12s in a ported enclosure? If I did this, it would fire forward and be sealed off from the trunk in about 4.5ft3 with about 70 sq. in of port. I could care less about SPL on the mic but would there be much difference is loudness to the ear without a big loss in SQ? If it’s not worth all the hassle then I won’t mess with it. Let me know what you think.

The RMS is 800 watts each but I'm sending them about 1000-1200 each and they take it no problem. They sound pretty good now but I'm just getting that itch for something a little louder. I'm just not sure if I'll get enough of a gain to redo the install and build a new enclosure.....Any other opinions?
