Noticable difference from 2 10" to 2 12"?

i wouldn't bother with it unless you were doing a decent upgrade in power. You would actually gain more by adding just another 10"

Noticeable. Still only 2 drivers vs 3 for the person who told you to go with 3 10s if thats something you're interested in.

Speaking strictly in terms of cone area...

2 12's = 226 sq. inches

2 10's = 157 sq. inches

3 10's = 236 sq. inches

The current setup is 2 10"s in 3 cubes tuned to 34Hz. The 12"s would be in 4 cubes tuned to about the same. 3 10"s would require more air space than a have to offer I think. The need about 1.5 each. I only have 4 total after all displacement to offer.

Oh and either setup. Is ran on. An older AQ3500 (3500@1ohm).

I think generally speaking 3 10s will perform as good as 2 12s given the same net box volume.

Not worth it IMO unless you really want some more bass. To get more room you could always try aeros. Like do 2 12"s with 2 or 3 4" aeros.

Aeros are what I'm using for thew 10"s and what I would be using for the 12"s. I was hoping it would be worth it since I'm looking for more output. My only other option is a blow thru, and I really want to avoid doing that. Having a crewcab truck kinda *****, lol. There's just not much room for anything if your looking for some real output.

I wouldnt do it. I actually prefer the sound of my 10's over any other size.

I know people say they can get other subs to sound just as good that are bigger, but IMO I like the sound of 10's in a good ported box. Love the setup I have right now.
