Guys, I have just finished installing my JVC KW-NT3HDT head unit, and am about to do the entire rest of the install with two kicker amps (!0DX1000.1 & 10IX500.4) two Kicker 10" CompVR subs, front and rear Kicker KS6.2 components, some KS35 dash speakers, and 2 Ecplishe MRE700 headrest monitors.
I have some questions about crossovers.
Bother the head unit and the amps have crossovers. Through other threads I have seen people suggest using the Xovers on both the HU and the Amps. I think I would like to use the ones on the head unit as they are configurable from the drivers seat.
My question is about the Xovers on the HU. No where in the documentation or on the radio itself, does it say where the Xovers are applied to. For example, the JVC has bot the LPS and a HPF. If I enable these, are they only applied to the pre-amp outputs, or do they apply to the tradional speak wire connections as well. And on the pre-amps, does the LPF only apply to the sub per-amp and the HPF only apply to the front and rear RCA outputs?
So, that is the first question. Where to the two Xovers get applied to. The second question is, when I hook up the dash speakers, I envisioned just connecting them to the front speaker wires coming off the HU. They are rated at 20 RMS and 50 Peak, just like the HU. My question is, will I need Bass Blockers for thos two dash speakers?
Thanks for any help you guys/gals can offer.
I just thought of something else. Since I am using componets for all 4 dorr speakers, that have the cross overs built in, does that mean I should not even use the HPS on those speakers?
