I'm sorry if i come off sounding like an *******. The risk is still there they'll get bit. I watch the feeding process as closely mainly for this reason. If it's head or legs are free to scratch/bit the snake durring constriction i have something ready to let the rat bite into or scratch instead of the snake. If the heads free i'll use aplastic bottle cap and if the legs are free i use a piece of cardboard and put it between the feet and the snake. It's a risk im willing to take for the sake of entertainment, and letting the snakes kill. I keep the feeding in the feeding bucket and i handle them frequently as possible. Big one's never bit. She likes to hiss first if she's pissed off for whatever odd reason....
