Not totally floored with my CDT's and want more!

I have the HD-52's (see sig) running off the 800.4 amp and they don't scream like I thought they would. The Focal 6x9's are powered off it too and they do scream pretty good. In the beginning my plans were to put everything just to the CDT's and run no rears but the audio shop that did my work said I should add rear fill and I would blow the CDT's putting all that power to them. Would a power increase help them? I imagine I have 100W-125W going to them now so how much could they handle continuous?

Exactly! They are probably some of the baddest 6x9's out there but I imagine they help.

I kind of wonder if I could put more power to the sub too?

tonally the 6x9's scream more so it interferes with the soundstage. thats not technecally set up right and i bet you have phasing issues up front if they set it up that way too boot.

unplug your rear speakers, sell them (someone's bound to want some 6x9's from focal) and amp your front speakers better. You'll see the difference.

I think it is 165W. I would of had 200W going to them the way I originally figured it but this audio shop said they don't even put 200W to the $700 Focal Polys. They said usually only 100W to any component set.

retards. if you read the gain setting tutorial at the top of our amplifier forum, and then set the gains to your components using those guidelines. You'll be fine.

word , otherwise you can pick up one of my diamond D5600.2 amps that'll do 150x2 rms to the comps , underrated so they would match those cdt's perfectly

I'll bet you could easily get away setting the gains to 200 watts. I'm sure you will see the difference. I am running about double the RMS rating of my components (RE comps) and they sound just dandy off about 100 wRMS. The CDT's should defeinitely take more.

as long as the speakers retain their clarity and dont distort at all... id be surprised if they blew.
