Not really used to this kind of box...

Here's my first swing at it. It's single chamber with port in the middle, I thought it'd be the same concept as a side port, so that's how I made it.

The box is 3.74ft^3, the port is 8" Wide, 11.25" long

Box dimensions are 36" wide, 16" High, 20" deep...

Someone mind running the numbers again to see what the frequency is?

I was aiming for 40Hz.

Aye or nay?

BTW-- This is just a concept.

yeah if thats 3.75 net and with that port its tuned to like 58hz

i would make the port like 5inches wide not 8, which would make the tuning like 50hz....so yeh you need to make the port longer..with the port 5inches wide and 23inches long it would be 40hz

Okay, here it goes... I was doing the calculations for the inside of the box, but posting the ones for the outside... drew it wrong. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Anyway...

integraboxstyle2.jpg

Internal measurements: 14-1/2" H x 14-1/2" D x 34-1/2" W

Port measures: 4" W x 14-1/2" H x 11-1/4" L

I got 42 Hz... any one else do the quick measurements/critique?

ive always hated the way that looks. why dont you just do the port on one side and the subs on the other, and use the side of the box for a port wall instead of making a new one and displacing more air

are you subtracting the port and sub displacement to get your internal volume?

run thaty port along the bottom

And as for the style of the box, I wanted to use the ports to act as support for the subs.

Since it's sub up port back, I wanted reinforcement that a regular L-shaped box won't give.

But, I mean, if it comes down to it I'll just build a normal L-shaped.

'cause this mid-port is confusing the ish out of me.

x2. Thats how i did mine. design an L port for just one sub, then copy it and flip it to the other side and get rid of the port walls so the ports are together.

I decided to go with a dual-chambered layout since that's easier and I'm good at that...

Sorry if the numbers are confusing.

The port (1) is 2.5" W x 14.5" T x 15.75" L

Port (2) is 2.5" W x 14.5" T x 8.5" L

The box itself is 18.5" W x 14.5" T x 17-7/8 L

Did the math pretty well on this one, so I'm pretty sure it's right.

And for fun:
