Not loud enough!

1. Get a Hifonics amp and wire your sub to 1 ohm.

2. Get a different enclosure that isn't facing up at the trunk. That kills your sound and bass. My friend has a 15" Kicker L7 powered by a BXI-1608 and his box is pointed towards the trunk in his Mustang....and i can tell you this, my 2 P2D410's with a BXI-608 is louder than his 15.

:/

just get a hifonics bx1000d or a new model. I had a 15" SX on a bx1000d @1ohm back in tha gap and it Banged. You most def. need more power on that SX. That will get you loud.

turn off all bass boost/loudness and set the bass level to zero or all the way down, turn up the gains on the amp to almost full, set the frequency to around 80Hz and keep the bass boost on the amp off....then turn up the deck bass slowly to u're liking, but keep the loudness OFF! should notice a difference right away

1 15 sx running on about 1800 watts in 4 cubes at 38hz was doing hair tricks in my ext cab tacoma. Get your stuff set up right. Or, buy another one and throw in a wall. Worked for me.

^what not to do

What?! Turn his gain to full? Ur telling the dude to clip his amp.

Noway do ur shitty rf p2 10s get louder than a l7 15, unless the install is terrible, even than it's hard to believe urs would be louder.

There is to many noobs giving poor advice in this theard.

Op.

1. Get a amp that does 1500-2000wrms @ 1ohm.

2. Build a porter box built to specs.

3. Do required electrical upgrades. Big3 and couple big batts. Also +/- in 0/1 gauge.

Really?

find a class d that can run your 4 ohm load at close to the same wattage as a 2 ohm load. I'm not going to get much into the benefits of robbing yourself of sound quality:)
i never noticed any differance in SQ with differant ohm loads.

are you high? how much would an amp cost that put out 1500w at 4ohm??? forget that dude, go for 1ohm. you wont notice anything differant exept the extra 3db (that's x2 as loud if you didnt know)

Thanks I didn't know about db's,I just wired my sub to 1ohm and the Phoenix Gold amp is pushing it,but I noticed a funny smell, checked the sub and everything looks great, now i guess i have to tune the amp right so i don't get the stank, until i get a new amp. What causes the smell anyway?
