not happy with my 9512!

Ok so i got a 9512 dual 1.5 running of an mm4000. it gets about 3k rms. Its in a box that's about 2.65 cubes after port and woofer displacement. Im not happy with it because it smells and doesnt sound that good. Im thinking of replacing it with 2 9510 dual 2's so that i can get the 4k out of that amp and the space i have to work with is ideal for a pair of 10's. Or should i go with a 15 btl? Any ideas would be helpful.

a DD or MTX? if DD your port is most likely to small...if MTX they all sound like that....

Thats what i was told too much power. And no its a DD 9512G. I have two ports 2" wide and i believe its 18" long. That should tune it to about 40 hz. I want to tune to 35 and see what happens. Although dd recomends tunning to 40

well the guy that i bought them from never really broke them in and only played them for a small amount of time. So i dont know if its that or its too much power.

you'll need about 42sq inches of port for a box that size....really the box is a little big.....especially for that much power do 2 cu ft internal plus port and displacement...with 32sq inches of port...make the port 18" long ...it will work...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm running a DD M3 at 1ohm mono on a DD 3510 in my Saleen and beat the hell out of it...I've been running it over 6 months with no problems...but I don't let it clip...never smells and sounds awesome

I have the 3512 in my car with the modded MTX 1501D. Honestly the first subwoofer I've owned that I've ever been happy with and haven't wanted to upgrade. Take Louisiana_CRXs advice on the box he has dealt with alot of DD product's so I'm sure he knows a little bit about them lol.

is it better to run the woofer with the magnet firing towards the front of the car? or the magnet firing down and the woofer pointing up? what about the magnet outside of the box and the woofer firing into the box?
