Hey audio people:

Just wanted to get opinions and feedback about subs. I have a bmw 5 series w/ a stock sound system. Highs and mids are not bad but there is absolutely no thump whatsoever. I listen to a lot of hip hop/ rap so I need some thump. I really liked how my buddy's ride sounded when he had 3 10's in his 4runner. Im not looking to spend more than 300 bucks is this possible for a decent sounding sub addition. I prefer a clean sounding bass. Can you all reccomend anything? (ie. sub and amp) might be adding some components in the near future but i want to do the bass addition first.

A great budget amp is the hifonics 1606d, 1600RMS you can get one for about $250 shipped at the right place, and some sub suggestions TC sounds, L7, 3004SPL, Diamond D6

I want a clean sounding bass. Meaning not too loud and overbearing. So for about $300 is what im looking at just for the amp?

hm...if your total budget is only 300, you could go with a DIamond audio D6(about 150 or so), and power it with....a lower hifonics model that puts out only about 600rms because thats what the diamond puts out. Search about the D6, its a great SQ sub for the money.

By the way, cheapest your going to find anything is ebay pretty much. D6 on audio sites are going to be a good $40+ more

I think I might have spent around $300 for my wife's system, this is the setup that she has pending......

Amp: Kicker KX600.1 $130

Sub: Kicker CVX15D4 $120

Box: Sealed @ 2.5CUF $30 (I built it)

Wiring: All 4 Guage $30

Total amount spent $310........be on the safe side, and allow about $400 for a small setup. I bought that amp from a user on here and it was used.

And for an amp, you'll want something between 500w and 1000w RMS (The RSD can handle 1000w daily)

I don't know much about Kenwood amps, but this one might do well for you.
