Well i am fairly new to sound systems, so do not know alot, but i am looking at putting one into my car.

I have decided to go Pioneer, as from reading some of the forum it seems to be the best choice. I think i will go for the Pioneer DEH-P6850MP deck, in which i can get off ebay for around $300. I will proberly go for 2 TS-W306C Pioneer subs, and am still undecided on the speakers.

My question is what power amp would i need to be getting, and is an amp necesarry with this type of set up. If so (which i am gathering it is) what is a good one to get, and what power will i need to have, also any suggestion on speakers will be extremly appreciated. I have a friend who is an auto electrician, so i will have no trouble having it installed.

well we need more information to better help you, what coil configuration on the subs such as dvc 2ohm dvc 4ohm? Specs of the subs? I believe they are 500rms though...and what kind of power you have to power the amp (battery, alt, wire) and whats the volt output on your decks preouts? If you want to spend 300$ then I would make sure minimal my deck has 4vlt preouts, which in turn is going to make your amp not have to work as hard and perhaps prevent it from getting hot and give you its best performance. Overall I am going to say you will need 1000rms for your subs and many of amps you can find for 300$ or less, but to name a few orion 1200d, american bass xd1000, hifonics bx1500 etc....
