Noob Question

Hello,

I am new to car audio, and as I have been browsing online, I notice a brand called legacy. The subs are ridiculously cheap, and I can't help but think theres something terribly wrong with them. Amps from this brand are cheap also but i'm mainly worrying about the subs. Some insight on this brand would be nice, thanks.

Yeah, I cant understand all of that, thats what I was thinking... more along the lines of you get what you pay for. I wish I could hear to see what I'm getting with the price. Are they gonna sound like crap or are they gonna give me something thats better than what my stock 98 sunfire has?

hm in my opinion, inless you know exactly what your looking for, i would go to a store that has car audio components and listen to some setups they have....if you dont have any specialty shops around you, im sure you have a best buy, circuit city, tweeter, or pep boys or something along those lines where you could get a feel for what you want. once you figure out exactly what you want, then i would get stuff off the internet. thats a thing that freaked me out, i had to hear what i was buying before i dropped $300+ on it

oh hell no....BestBuy, CircuitCity, etc....are NOT good places for car audio....generally the people there do not know a lot about anything other than the stuff they sell, which aren't always the best.

And even car audio shops don't always know the best stuff, too many of the ones around here push Sony..eww

Best thing to do is ask people on here and other car audio forums that are knowledgable ....some of the best brands, such as RE, Fi, RD audio, Ascendant Audio, Digital Designs, etc...are ones that most people in the shops don't even know about. Hell, a friend of mine has a standing bet with ANY of the shops around here that they can't beat him...he has a 450 watt amp(well its 450 watts by ASCI rules) hooked up to one Digital Designs 9515 subwoofer...and none of them have beat him yet...
