noob question about double dins

im purchasing a double din for my tacoma in the next couple days and i was wondering when a unit says it only has 2 sets of pre amp rca out puts. im looking at a boss bv9555 and it only has 2 pre amp rca out puts. how would i hook up my amp for my woofers to these? i also was looking at a power acoustik head unit that said it had 2 pairs of rca pre amp out puts front and rear and then it had one mono subwoofer out put? how would this work for either one?

are you running a rear channel? (ie, amplified rear speakers)

I hope you realize those aren't the greatest head units....

yes i understand there not the best in the world but im on a budget and im not in it for competition or anything. no im not running amplified rear door speakers or front door speakers. the only amp i have is a jl audio monoblock that is running a 10'' kicker at the moment. the kicker is only temporary because i just sold my rockford p2s

sorry if some of my spelling is incorrect i had surgery this morning and im a little out of it still....i just cought myself typing budjet instead of budget....lol anyway could i just plug the rca input jacks from my amp into the rear rca outputs on the pioneer?

lol yes king corral you are right....like i said im a little out of it....but i have a sony head unit right now it was about 190 bucks at walmart....would either of these 2 double dins be a step down to my system?

I just recommended this in another thread, but check out the clarion max385vd. Probably the best double din for the money, from my understanding. never actually owned it myself, but heard decent things about it.

please dont buy those boss or power acoustik HU's. I learned the hard way, went through second-tier 5 DVD HU's before I went with my panasonic and kenwood. still have both installed....

would you recomend the clarion max485vc before the kenwood ddx512 or not?

2 pre amp outputs means you will probably have front and rear/sub switachble, You wont be able to run a true 4 chanel set up with subs. And the mono output means you get 1 rca out, and you would need a y-adapter to run the sub rcas. It sucks, buy a cheap pioneer or kenwood. the ddx512 is a good unit, but has the same problem, 2 rca outputs. If your not running a high end system, dont worry to much about it. But dont buy boss or power acoustic, there menus look like windows 95 and are slooww and will probably break verryy easy, and skip like somone said. Clarion is good stuff also, look at some reviews, and which ever is in your price range.

if you are not amping your front or rear speakers then any unit with even a single rca out will do. hook up the speakers normally using the hu power, run a rca to your sub amp and use it's own crossover.
