NOISE ORDINANCE in your town

im am moving down to alabama this weekend. and the town im moving to has a noise law. im pretty worried because i love to play mu system loud all the time. if there is a law in your town is it enforced? shoud i be worried?

Depends. I live in college town with one of the highest police per capita in the country with some of the most dick headed cops around and unless you're bumping crazy loud they don't seem to care. I was pulled over in the heart of college town and I had my music blaring and they didn't even say anything (2 momo 12's with 350-400wrms to each) with my volume at 45/62. I'd play it safe tho - noise violations around here are $250/pop.

well, we have one here in selma.. they rarely enforce it. most cops don't care but some do. now montgomery, thats a different story...... where u movin to?

i have ordinances here also. 2 towns next to me are very strict otherwise i am fine. i dont play it in neighbor hoods and try to keep it down a mile or closer to my house. people calling cops is not a problem. its more of not seeing a cop around the corner and having him hear you. my neighbors all hate me and thats not a good situation. my advise is keep it down near your house so your neighbors dont hate you and have a quick way to turn your system off. i put a switch in my friends turn on lead for this purpose.

The noise ordinances are not too strictly enforced where I live against car stereos. It's more for parties that aggravate neighbors late at night because the parties violate the noise restrictions in the housing contracts of their neighborhoods.

But here it is a $250 fine if you do get a ticket for violating the noise laws - so play it safe.

yeah... follow the "tips to avoid getting jacked" thread. don't bump near malls and stuff.. prattville isn't that bad though.....

ytea im from billingsley. doubt you have ever herd of it but its about 30 mins from pville and not to far from selma. but im going to try and aviod the gump. especially some of the worse parts

I just try to watch out for cops. But my system really isn't too loud on the outside, my truck retains the pressure pretty well compared to most.
