That's exactly why I went with DC. Mechmans price sure was nice but the idle amperage was terrible. DC was best in my situation.
Awesome thank you guys, hope they both get at me with awesome, good-fit alts!I emailed nate over at excessive because he always emails me back in a few hours an told him to check his darn email and respond to ppl quotes. Hopefuly he gets back to you.
My point was that your limiting factor is size. Pick one of the reputable brands that replies to you and treats you right and go with them. You have a half dozen listed here and I can assure you under real-world conditions, size being equal, they'll all give you pretty much the same performance.Problem isn't brand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif it's amps :/
So far the only good one is a singer 240 (~220 hot) so I wanted to know what is the recommended rms for it (nothing precise just average i'm definitely not full tilt 24/7 nor loud at idling) and I can add 31s in the backMy point was that your limiting factor is size. People lay far too much stock on big numbers in marketing.
I know a guy who runs 4 American Bass 500.1's at 18V on just a single alternator (and like 16 big batteries). As others have said it's largely going to depend on your listening habits and other variables that you'll have no control over. Buy the biggest alternator that'll fit from a reliable company and add batteries until it does what you need.So far the only good one is a singer 240 (~220 hot) so I wanted to know what is the recommended rms for it (nothing precise just average i'm definitely not full tilt 24/7 nor loud at idling) and I can add 31s in the back
Exactly! Waiting on DC and EA now, hopefully they'll have something larger than 240I know a guy who runs 4 American Bass 500.1's at 18V on just a single alternator (and like 16 big batteries). I run 10KW of sub amps and I doubt my alternator does more than that. In fact I never even asked what it would do, just asked for the best one that could fit in my factory location. Again, I think people put way too much stock in just being able to throw around big numbers.Exactly! Waiting on DC and EA now, hopefully they'll have something larger than 240
Forgot to mention! Just realized something... This was singers quote:That's exactly why I went with DC. Mechmans price sure was nice but the idle amperage was terrible. DC was best in my situation.
Thank you bro, Nate replied to me but he only has a 200, so its all up to DC...Nate emailed me back saying
I was having problems getting my emails, not sure what the problem was but seems like its working now. I had a lot of emails that were going to spam and I didn't realize it.
