No juice in amp remote (Turn on) wire?

Hey, recently I bought a new car ('89 Nissan Laurel) and transferred my old Panasonic head unit from a Honda Integra in which it worked fine. I have wired everything up to the loom of the head unit and all seems as if it should be working fine except that when I use a multimeter on the amp remote wire there seems to be no power running through it.

What options do I have to get my head unit working???

Cheers!!

(P.S I have tried my head unit in a friends car to make sure thats not the problem...)

run the rem from the amp to a switched power source so it powers up when the amps turn on. Such as cig lighter circuit, dash lights ect..Should be some spares in the fuse panel. DMM them out and see if one is available.
