Nike SB's

Is there really that high of demand for used shoes?
There is a thrift store that sells shoes for low prices. Take for instance, a pair of Jordan's for 1996. Do they actually appreciate in value? Do people buy shoes as an investment vehicle? I am not saying this is wrong, bad, or stupid. I am always open to new investment opportunities.

So, I go off and buy $3k worth of Jordans and held them for 5 years. Do you have any estimated ROI? What sizes should one buy for optimal investment success? The stock market is too crowded, alternative investments is where it's at.
well, first off you're getting the wrong idea. if you know your shit you can make a lot of money in the market b/c yes, they do appreciate...even when used. if buying/selling shoes was not a good investment process boutique shoe stores would not exist...or flourish in certain areas.

but lets focus on the issue at hand. the statement i was replying to was in regards to the price of one pair of shoes. if you buy that pair of shoes for $100 and can sell them for $200 a year later then yes your return rate would be positive. nobody said anything about investing $3k in jordans, it was simply an issue of "are these shoes worth their price?"

im glad you feel smart for dodging the issue though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I wasn't dodging the issue. I was not even on topic. I never thought of shoes as an investment vehicle.

I have seen some local places buy a pair of shoes that run $60 new, buy used for $15, and sell for $30. I was thinking of buying 30 pairs of shoes and locking them up in the attic.

What does one look for in a shoe? I assume rarity, but I have no idea what else.

considering the resale values of many nikes (among other brands) i would have to "get you wrong"
I never said that those shoes didn't go for high prices. I am fully aware that morons travel in packs, copy each others "style" and work at a unity of ideas (that are never wrong mind you) and appearance. In the end all you get is a factory (called the media) turning out row after row of identical "in style" sheep.

I've said it once, I'll say it again, I'm sure I will say it later.

Baaaaaa for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
