A class amps seem to make bass notes sound different from solid state amps, as is the case with my home audio.
Apparently, it's due to the damping factor of the A class being in the 2 digit figure. Whether it is good or bad, it's up to the listener.
As for car audio, until I find an amp that's really truly spectacularly, incredibly, dubiously awesome with a low low price (i.e. not gonna happen), I'll keep on using my old school RF amps to power my comps.
