I recently tore the foam surrounds on my subs and replaced them with some high roll rubber ones. It sounds like a completely different system now?!?!? Seems a good amount louder and hits lower notes than it did before. Nothing else was changed, at all. Am I insane or......?

 
Didn't really think any other info be would relevant to the question. buuuuut i'm running a pair of 10" RE SE-X(v.1) on 2Kw~, 2.5ft^3 net @ 34hz~, single 6" aero.

 
The subs probably have a little more throw if alowed by the spiders and icreased the airflow in the gap increasing cooling now this is pure speculation off of theory. But should be close also the added throw would make low end a bit more dominate as well.
