newb question

i also have a newb question lol when an amp says 2000w rms at 1ohm does that mean the subs will be getting 2000w each or it splits the 2000w into giving 1000 to each sub? when wired like that i tried looking for what does ohm mean and stuff like that couldnt find anything.

its a little more complicated than just dividing up the power. It depends on how many subs you have and how you have them wired.

Ohms is the measure of resistance that your amps current has to overcome in order to complete the circuit. less ohms means less resistance which equals more output if your amp is stable. if it isn't stable, it will overheat and possibly burn up. when an amp is rated at 2000w rms @ 1 ohm, that means your sub will recieve that many watts if you have it wired up at 1 ohm.
