Ok guys, about two months ago I went to a car shop in town and bought an Audiopipe 3k watt amp and a single DC 15' sub for my 98 Crown Victoria LX. I paid them for that along with zero gauge wiring and the construction of a box. Worked alright for a couple of weeks and then the coil in the sub went bad from the amp feeding it bad power (I have no idea what that means but that's what they told me). They said they'd replace the sub but that unless I got a stronger alternator along with a new battery and a separate one for the trunk that the chances of my sub going bad again were high. They found an alternator for me on eBay, that I had to buy and recommended me to a garage down the street. I got the alternator and went to the garage. The mechanic bad mouthed the place I got the audio stuff from the whole time. "I can't believe they have your amp on the box, something's going to get loose and fry it, You need a capacitor, etc." Anyway, he ended up replacing my intake manifold which was leaking antifreeze and not putting on the alternator because it did not fit. Now I'm out $695 and I still don't have anything to show for it. I could really use some professional help. Did I get in over my head getting the 3k watt amp? What should I do from here? Can my problems easily be fixed without downgrading to a smaller system? Thanks thanks thanks!!

I took some pictures of everything but it wasn't letting me post links to them (maybe because that was my first post?) PM me if you want and I'll send them to you.
