New whip!

Sub up port back your hatch really takes a beating. The windowlatch and hatch latch might break. I know I broke my latch and had to glue my window shut with windshield adhesive. Then I ripped my tailgate and said its time to wall. Now that I'm walled I'm louder with less flex. After being walled I don't think I'll ever go back to not being walled. Let me go find the pic of the hatch metal ripped

Old windshield wiper spot

Now wiper out. Hatch is ripped all way through from when I used to have a box sub up port back.

Now the Chevy emblem I put over the ugly hole. Looks pretty good for a cheap fix if u ask me.

I've never walled a car and I haven't made a whole bunch of

Enclosures. If there was someone local who had done a wall or just was more educated then me I would do it. But I have no idea what it takes. Plus no rear window worries me.

That's what the forums are for. Look at lots of build logs and see how other people have done it. Build inside the vehicle and use the kreg jig to help ya out. Ask questions and learn. And u get use to using your side mirrors. It's easy.

Well man you build log is an inspiration and I really liked gkless's blazer build log when I had mine. But I don't have any experience with an explorer, from what ive seen 2 18s in the back pound! But I have these 2 ethos 15s and I don't know what to do I feel a little backed into a corner, it's either resize my subs, get new subs, get more ethos 15s. Get more power. I'm just having a hard time deciding what route to go, a c pillar doesn't sound too scary but a big box behind the front seats sounds nice too. But it's got a **** load of room in the hatch so there's a lot of possibilities.

Because you're not loud. Can your box play low?

Yeah, lol. That's what I was getting at.

Sure I'm loud....and yes it can play low. But not too low. The subs don't like to be tuned to low so I have heard. Currently tuned to around 32-33Hz.

OP, try a big ported box and go from there. Can't go wrong with a start like that.
So imi should just do the 2 ethos 15s in like a 9cu box? Tuned to 32? Maybe change my amp to a 5k? Or a Brazilian? Again they are both d2! Also idk how to do the @"username" but I just wanna say thanks to all you more experienced guys. I'm in my 2nd year of college and am a full time student and work every day I don't have class, so it's great to get this advice and help. It makes making decisions easier and I don't exactly have anyone else with a real system close by. I'm assuming the closest place would be Spokane WA.(4 hours from where I live) but like I said thanks a lot I've been crawling this forum for a little more than a year and I feel like every day I learn more and more. I honestly wish I could get more people here in Montana into car audio. And thanks for the advice in advance

Absolutely. Choose an amp you can afford. The more power the better, but keep control of the gain, and a clean signal. You should have a nice loud system if you go that route.
