Only you can decide how much room you want to take up. Wall it? Keep it under the windows? Etc.
No I want it pretty close to the Windows line but I'm not partial to the back seats so. But I have seen 2 18s in the back of an explorer without the seats down. I'm just looking for ideas to bounce around.i have these two ethos and I am just wondering if I should keep them or what to do. I have an American bass vfl 175.1 I'm just wondering if it's better to move to 5k and resize them or get slightly less powerful drivers and keep the amp. They're d2 so I can only wire at 2 ohm or .5 ohm and it leaves only a few amps I can choose from and I haven't heard enough good things about brazillians to take that step. So honestly just looking for ideas. There is a 24in bro on Caco I'm interested in tho.

Take a tape measure out to your new truck, spend about 3 mins and get a rough idea of the space you have to work with. That will give you a pretty good idea what size subs you can accommodate.
Definitely, I'm just excited man besides figuring out what to do with the 6 x 8s in the doors? I figure I can run 6in in the doors. Round speakers vs oval ones? Is there a musical difference. I see most people run circular speakers.

Rear loading is usually loud in an SUV. But remember, the nastier the system you do it with, the more your rear hatch is going to take a beating.

Ive often considered a very large down firing box, but Im weird that way.

Wall would be louder, but I would rather do cargo area and possibly take the back seats out than do a C-pillar
I really like the thought of this. I'll get measurements tonight and let you guys know the space in working with

Sub up port back your hatch really takes a beating. The windowlatch and hatch latch might break. I know I broke my latch and had to glue my window shut with windshield adhesive. Then I ripped my tailgate and said its time to wall. Now that I'm walled I'm louder with less flex. After being walled I don't think I'll ever go back to not being walled. Let me go find the pic of the hatch metal ripped

Old windshield wiper spot

Now wiper out. Hatch is ripped all way through from when I used to have a box sub up port back.

Now the Chevy emblem I put over the ugly hole. Looks pretty good for a cheap fix if u ask me.

Does not take much to stress and make sheetmetal fail. My friend split his roof on his explorer from the CRX style box he is talking about. He did 151+ on 2 15's below the window line. He eventually did a B pillar wall later on.

And no inside pics?!

Agree with the other massive....I'd try a big ported box with subs up port back. They've been proven already that's the loudest in mid to larger SUV's.
