[FONT=&amp]So, I was planning on getting a new receiver (actually a surround sound processor) sometime towards the end of summer. But I went into my local shop can came across a deal I COULD NOT PASSS UP.... I will post up picture on Tuesday when I have it installed. I was looking at originally getting a Rotel RSP-1068 which is pretty nice but I got such a good deal I got the RSP-1098 [/FONT][FONT=&amp]which is totally *******![/FONT][FONT=&amp]!![/FONT]

Home audio has a stigma of being insanely expensive - which some of it is. But if you shop right, and can use a soldering iron, it's amazing what you can find out there. The ultra-high end gives the rest of it a bad name...you know, the $10,000 phono cartridges and $500 a meter interconnects.

seems the 1068's go for 600+ on ebay and this is the big boy to that. i'd imagine he dropped a grand easily.

I don't buy high end stuff like this on ebay... Boo for ebay, I don't care if I spend twice as much I won't ever buy anything off ebay... eBay wont take care of you like face to face service. Service means a lot...

Plus I don't think I should post up the price... I don't know if my buddies at AE would want me to do that or not.... Let's just say it wasn't much more than a RSP-1068 and it was a lot more than 600...

Reason I asked is the RSP-1068 sells for about 1600-1800 and the RSP-1098 sells for around 2800-3100 about...

man you got more $ to throw around than i do that's for sure. i'd never drop 1600 on a reciever unless it was in a house with a h/t room that is just for that.

Well, I pretty much run my own company doing two-way radio rentals. It is going into my living room in my appartment, which is pretty much a dedicated stereo/home theater room. I will put up pictures when I get everything together tomorrow.....
