New to the Forums..A little help please

Hey guys I'm Planning on wiring my system but i just have a few questions. I plan to wire a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 (1200w rms) to two rockford fosgate punch hx2 (500w rms, 1000w max, each). One of my first questions is, is there a big difference in the brand of wiring i buy because i see that some are much more expensive then others. Another question is what guage power wire would i need as well as speaker wire so that i insure my subs are getting all the power they can. Also where do you guys find the best deals on wiring? Thanks in Advance for the help sorry if anything i asked has already been answered before. Thats all for now but im sure i'll have more questions arise later lol.

welcome to the site, you will be fine with 12 or 14 guage speaker wire, i would personally run 1/0 guage power wire from the battery just in case you ever think of upgrading to bigger and better, that you wouldnt have to re-run wire. it is always good to have decent wire, but the biggest difference is what size you use. alot of people here use knukonceptz wire. http://www.knukonceptz.com check there for good wire.

i also plan on upgrading the speakers in my car.. a Pair of Infinity Kappa components upfront that i want to feed about 90-100 watts rms too. should i run new speaker wire, im not sure what gauge stock 88 mustangs come with. Would it to anything to run new speaker wire in the car or is it not worth it. Any other opinons on my above questions? thanks guys!

i would run new speaker wire, personnally i think its better to upgrade everything. and it wont be to hard to run new wires.

as for wire size is everything like stated above but you could go and buy welding wire for your power wire.

wire is wire brands mean little except for flexability issues.

I have 1/0 and 4/Gauge welding cable from them,for my system,in my '98/Saturn/SC2..I personally like the cable.Their insulator is neoprene,like the outer jacket,but of a different color.No Paper.There's no minimum you have to buy.And you can get "Free Printing" of your choice put on the outer jacket.I like that.Chris is the owner.
