I just purchased 2 type r 12s, 4 760 watt (360 watt RMS) pioneer amps, pair of type r 61/2s and type r 6x9 powered by a Kenwood kdc-628 but i have no idea how to wir e the subs to the amps properly with the two amps into the one speaker. I also have no idea what type of box i should use for these but i have to buy the box because i cant build them. Any Suggestions?

Give all model numbers. That will help.

Question: Why did you buy (4) amps for two subs? Why didn't you just get one nice mono amp? Would make the installation ALOT easier and cleaner.

I'd say go ported.

What car/truck is this going into? Do you have a new HU? What kind of wire are you talking?

Since the Type R's are D4's seems to me like you would have to wire each VC to a 4ohm load on the 5100T's...

Like bridge each amp and run one amp to one VC....so (4) 5100T's bridged at 4ohms to (4) 4Ohm VC's..

so pretty much each VC would be seeing ~380 and each sub would be seeing ~760

must gain match amps first!! i destroyed a soundstream spl 160 doing what you will be doing. just cause the amps are set to the same gain setting dosent mean you are getting identical power out of them. this will be very important.

ok, i am going to hav e1 guage from the bat to the distribution box then 4 guage to each amp this should be sufficient correct?
