New RE MX and XXX Prices!

I am just thinking they are too expensive for my needs unless the performance is so above and beyond everyone else.

exactly....if room were no option id rather pick up two SX 18's for a little more cash and outperform the hell outta this new sub.

on another note....is the MX an SPL or SQL sub? if price drops a good bit i may pick one up.

jl hasnt lowered prices because they have a chance to forsee a larger market than RE. a lot more shops carry jl compared to RE. JL has an amazing rep behind it while RE has that same rep...............with well less amounts of people behind them holding it up. maybe these are brick and mortar retail prices, quite possibly. i just cant make myself spend 650 on a single subs wheni can buy 2 325 dollar subs and out perform the one...

But can you is the question....if one $650 sub can outperfrom two $325 subs, would you still buy it?

The reason I said that is because JL is still selling the w7 like its going out of style. They havent changed the design in awhile but still people buy it.

Performance will always raise a price no matter what.

The old saying goes you get what you pay for. Im sure you can find a sub for cheaper but will it be as good as the other one. Probably not. I dont know that many subs that can compete with the w7 in SQL

They are qualifying thier comments by saying there is nothing to compare them to. For instance, its performance greatly exceeds the w7, and it at a similar price, therefore it is still a good value.

no prolly not. i cant jusify opening one box and finding only one sub and he just took 650 from me lmao. id rather open two boxes, other than that....yah, prolly would. but im betting two LI 12's or the such can outperform this single sub.

Anyone who says it'll outperform the W7 without testing both is talking out of their ass and is just on the bandwagon.

I'm not going to make any statements on it or the price.Maybe in a few months I MIGHT buy one but at this point I don't think so.

So its the physcological aspect of one sub for $650, not a componet of a quality audio system,as in the "sub stage". I see we have different perceptions.

Are these not supposed to be better than most anything available to date on the market? If they perform like RE claims, should they not be more expensive than anything on the market? I understand the cheap syndrome. $650 is a lot of dough. As long as Performance is like mentioned I personally think it's reasonable.

Why did nobody say this when the W7 hit the shelves? The EXACT same statements applied, but because it was JL it was nothing more than ever being "overpriced"
