New Radio = frustration to the max

So with this cheaper one I won't get a low fuel light? That seems a bit strange.. why would that information have to go through the radio?
The dash gauge has a light that comes on when you are near empty. This does not get affected.

On the stock headunits it shows a message saying low fuel. This is what will not work, but as far as the dash light that will remain.

I've run into a problem that's really crushed my hopes. I got the harness today from best buy, hooked up all the wires and such, but now no sound is coming out of my speakers. The radio turns on, accepts my bluetooth and USB and everything, but no audio is broadcast to my speakers. I'm pretty sure it has to do with this Delphi PBT-GF30 harness: http://droppr.in/d/rDEz.jpg & http://droppr.in/d/fmZc.jpg

My wiring currently: http://droppr.in/d/FeDq.jpg

No the plug you showed is what the harness is bypassing mentioned above. Once an aftermarket radio is installed this plug is not used. The harness Longthrow mentioned above is all you need and should come equipped with a little speaker box. That's where youll get your "ding" from open door, keys left in and message center info alarm. Recheck your wiring bud.

i have a old wire harness for my 2004 chevy impala. im pretty sure it fits 2004-2008 impalas.

would you want it? if you still need a wire harness

it has the ding box and wires to splice.

that is if you dont have the correct one.

Yes, I understand that the white harness is being bypassed, but I'm more concerned about the black, 12-pin harness that has nothing to connect to. I already have the vehicle-specific harness connected to the factory harness and all of the wires are joined together (spun the wires together after stripping them down a half inch and surrounded with electrical tape and crimped to make a solid connection). I don't think it's a wiring problem with the harness because all of the wires are connected to the correct wires as directed by the manual from the radio as well as the one provided by the harness.

EDIT: I tried the old radio without that extra harness and it worked fine. So i'm thinking it might be that I don't have an antenna signal going through it yet? But otherwise, I have no idea. I'm getting in an adapter on Tuesday, so we'll see then I guess.
