Because modern vehicles ****.So with this cheaper one I won't get a low fuel light? That seems a bit strange.. why would that information have to go through the radio?

ThisI almost always buy my HU from crutchfield. Most special harnesses are 50% off with order and it's free shipping.
The dash gauge has a light that comes on when you are near empty. This does not get affected. So with this cheaper one I won't get a low fuel light? That seems a bit strange.. why would that information have to go through the radio?
Yes, I understand that the white harness is being bypassed, but I'm more concerned about the black, 12-pin harness that has nothing to connect to. I already have the vehicle-specific harness connected to the factory harness and all of the wires are joined together (spun the wires together after stripping them down a half inch and surrounded with electrical tape and crimped to make a solid connection). I don't think it's a wiring problem with the harness because all of the wires are connected to the correct wires as directed by the manual from the radio as well as the one provided by the harness. No the plug you showed is what the harness is bypassing mentioned above. Once an aftermarket radio is installed this plug is not used. The harness Longthrow mentioned above is all you need and should come equipped with a little speaker box. That's where youll get your "ding" from open door, keys left in and message center info alarm. Recheck your wiring bud.
