New Phone Time

The LG8100 is nice as it has a SD card slot. The 815 looks nice but I thought it felt cheap in my hands. I have a VX8000 and I love it, huge screens and the buttons are big...but it's a thick bulky phone. The Samsung a890 is discontinued I think but it's really really nice and you can still find it around.

The Adiovox phones scare me in durability.

Thats my 2 cents.

I got Final fantasy Advent CHildren on my o700, though it can only go to 20fps and 240x320 resolution it's all good. I got a crowd next to me at the mall last night from my phone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks, your imput was greatly appreciated.

As a matter of fact the phone i have right now is an audiovox. Worst phone ever made.

More oppions greatly appreciated.

thanks for the imput so far.

I just got an e815;

Here's the deal.

Verizon cripples their phones. This phone is bluetooth capable, but verizon has disabled object exchange; That's the ability to send ringtones, music, wallpaper etc to the phone via bluetooth.

It can be enabled by hex-editing the 'seems'

You can, however, SMS yourself ringtones and whatnot, and save them to the phone.

The phone is also mp3 playback capable; However, Verizon doesn't provide any support for that, and makes it difficult to transfer mp3s onto the phone.

If you purchase a t-flash card and a t-flash programmer, you can load the card up, and stick it in the phone;

With another hex-editing hack, you can copy them over.

The phone comes preloaded with a few dozen childish cartoon emotes; They cannot be deleted unless you use the Motorola Datacable. Which you'll need to purchase.

The phone itself rocks. One shortcoming - if you set an Alarm to go off, and you receive a TXT message before it goes off (like overnight, and you don't get the chance to check the message,) the alarm won't go off.

I like the phone, but I wish Verizon hadn't f*cked it all up. I"m on day 7 of my 15 day trial period; I may return it, but unfortunately, even if I get another phone, verizon will still have all the functions disabled.

The phone is capable of EVDO transfers (highspeed)

You should be able to connect it to your computer and use it as a wireless, highspeed modem;

However, Verizon has thrown a few kinks into that.

All these things can be accomplished, but involve some pretty geeky stuff to make it happen.

So far on mine, I have wallpapers, ringtones, and free web browsing; It's still missing bluetooth functionality, mp3 playback, and some other features.

To be truthful, short of a big klunky Treo 650, it's the best phone verizon's got; 3 verizon reps I've spoken with (one who interviewed me, one at a kiosk, and one via *611) own it, and say it's the phone of choice.

I like it.

It takes movies, too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lol, yeah it's ridiculous how with most phones out there you are unable to remove the factory ring tones they comewith unless you use a hack or something like that. I was able to remove the factory rings off my i700 thank fully and freed up maybe a meg of space ahaha. Then i just upload my new tones (editing with sound forge w00tness) and i get cd quality wav's for my ringtones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif also, a 1 gig memory card for my movies and large files.
