New or refurb+warrenty?

Either would probably be purchased through ebay. The refurb is 40 bucks cheaper, and I will put that savings toward the extended warranty, so pricing will be the same, only 1 year longer warranty one refurb. My options were between Cadence, Hifonics, etc, but I am trying to get better quality equipment on a low budget. Thanks.

square trade warrenty isn't bad at all really.. i bought a soundstream pca2000d with an additional 3yrs of warrenty for like 30bucks i think it was. after 3 months of having the amp die it sat in my closet for another 3 months. i finally then sent it in with a written report of what had happened(started sending d/c into my sub) and they sent me a check in return for the amount i payed for the amp.

didn't take long either. it's not bad as people are saying how it is.

also, when the amp had died and since the amp was new with 1yr warrenty i called up soundstream to claim the warrenty from them, but they wouldn't honor it and voided it since it was not purchased from an authorized dealer. glad i had the squaretrade to back it up.
