new or old subs?

There is no such creature. I constantly see ads on eBay and other places with this same mistake on this amp and others from the same model year...being the son of a teacher I guess makes spelling errors a huge pet peeve of mine (though certainly I am not immune from them myself)

What you have is a KAC-729S. As in the letter found between R and T in the alphabet.

Kenwood's website isn't too difficult to navigate...

That being said the 729S's RMS specs are factory rated (with a 14.4vdc input) as follows:

100w/channel X 2 @ 4 Ohms

150w/channel X 2 @ 2 Ohms

300w/channel X 1 bridged mono

It could work, I reckon, but IMO 300 watts isn't going to do a Solobaric or a Dub6 any justice.

well hte l7 yeah, but the dub6 will do jus fine with 300 watts

The L5's are 300w rms per coil

The L7's are 375w rms per coil

you would not be providing half the power needed to run either of them.

Also, Kickers products are underated so the coils can usely take more power than spec.s call for and still run like a champ

Right now my amp is at 150 x 2, how do I bridge it to make it a single channel...and what OHM sub would I need to get if I did bridge the Kenwood 729s to 1 channel???

Also how much spl and sq would be improved on switching from 2 10'' JLw0's to a single W6 or L5/L7???

Either sub could handle alot more power, but 300 watts will work okay. Alot of people would be surprised how rarely they use more than 50% of their amplifier power, or how loud '300watts' could be. Not too many years ago most sub systems were in the 300-500 watt range, and they still got loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif And that way he would know what his next upgrade would be (bigger amp). Id take the W6 of those 2 choices.
