new nine 1 blows fuses in my power wire

what size fuse is it blowing?

and is it blowing them instantly or while you are playing it?

the 9.1 has a max draw of 120 amps so you would want a power wire capable of carrying that (atleast 4 awg) and a fuse with atleast that capacity but not more than the wire.

well i have 4 ga wire, but i dont know what the fuse is rated at, but its one of the little cylender shaped ones if that helps, it was an off brand kit, it doent look too cheap but it was only like 40 bucks

it blows after ive been playing it a while - 10-15 min

should i just get new wire?

if so whats a good brand?

i have a dealer by me that sells memphis brand complete kits for 50 bucks (4ga)

should i just get that? or should i upgrade to 2ga or even 0 ga?

upgrade your barrel fuse to 100A and you'll be fine

note to self: dumb *^* do they even make a 100a barrel fuse?

you may have to change your fuse holder to a MAXI AMP fuse holder, you can get one inside a wal-mart 1000 watt 5ga kit. the kits only like 24 bucks, just the fuse holder will probably cost you 15 to 20 bucks at a stereo shop.

12 to 13 ft of 4 ga is fine for the Nine.1 alone, but I wouldn't recommend running the comp amp off that same run of 4 ga. As was stated above, the Nine.1 is a real monster running @ 1 ohm, and will draw a lot of current. If you're running it @ 1 ohm, I'd suggest a minimum fuse rating of 100 amps, and 125 would be better. Maybe look into a 150 amp circuit breaker or ANL fuse setup for both amps, and upgrade main power cable to 0 gauge, then split if off at the amps to dual 4 ga with a fused distribution block.

I didnt read anything, only the title amnd a response or two. 4awg is good for about 150A, that nine.1 can draw something large on a normal basis if you are taxing it, sop if you are not fusing your main PWR at some lvl equivilant or higher than that of the internal fuses, ten you will continue to blwo fuses.

i have sepreate 8 ga for my high amp, the 4ga is just for the nine.1, so i think i will just get a bigger fuse block for the same wire i have

object if you think i should do something different

dont get the circuit breaker. not very good. just use and anl fuse block with 125 to 150 amp fuses. that amp is pulling 900 rms correct. then like they say the 4 guage will be ok. if u go up any further say around 1200 or 1300 then u will need to upgrade.
