New member, trying to make my new car sound decent!

Hello, just writing up the little obligatory intro.

I'm in my 40's, live in Detroit Metro (livonia).

Finally got a new car, getting older, so a sedan with some pep (subaru wrx 2017).

I can take the step from a v8 to a 4cyl turbo, but my 02 ***** Am had the monsoon sound system, with a bunch of speakers (and some little work done on it over the years) for a really full, all around sound.

The WRX sounds sort of like there's a portable speaker system in my face.

SO, I'm here to learn about what to do to make it sound decent, maybe not as good as the, what, 20 speaker system I had, but decent!

You will find that car audio has evolved quite well with the proper selected components for the application of the vehicle chosen that will out perform the Monsoon system as well as most stock systems with exception of a few of todays systems. Its all about the speakers chosen all the way to prep.,of locations, ect. to get the most out of your money being spent, and the system you really want.SQ can get very expensive if you really want the best for your money, but you can get a very nice system installed in any vehicle buying the right components for your budget.
