new member, trying to build best bang for buck.

whats up guys. i just recently (this morning acually) bought a mazda 3 hatch back and i have no real performance plans for it. however i simply can not ride around in a bone stock car. only thing is i want to keep my stock head unit.

components i will be useing:

-JBL GTO DVC 12" sub in a 1cf sealed box, stuffed with poly fill built by yours truly.

-Navone engineering 2ch LOC. (will be useing it to wire in my sub)

-"older" model alpine 2ch v-power amp (no more than 3-4 years old max)

-phoenix gold RSD 6.5 components.

-undecided amp for the sub.

the alpine is running the sub currently and i feel it is under powerd. this is the exact sub i have (clicky) .

i will likely be useing the alpine amp to run the 6.5 comps. but i am not sure about the sub. i am more about sound quality than output and i am concerned that a cheap amp (like profile) will make the sub sound very muddy. also since this is being hooked up to a stock head unit should i look for an amp with a "bass knob" so i am able to adjust the output like i would from an aftermarket HU? or is it a marketing gimmick?

any input on the best matched amp for the best price for that sub?
