Hi guys, I am new here and I am looking to purchase a budget system for my 09 accord coupe lx. I primarily listen to Rap/Hip Hop and i am looking for something that is decently loud with a quality sound to it. Im not trying to win any competitions.

I received a set of ctx65cs components for my birthday. I plan on purchasing a sundown sa 12 sub. I would like for your opinions on amp choices. Should I get one 4 ch or a separate amp for the sa12? I am open to any product recommendations. I am looking to spend a total of $500 on an amp(s) to power both the components and sub (either 1 or 2 amps).

I would also like your opinions on the entire set up as a whole. Will this sound good?

Thanks for your time!

thanks. anyone have any recommendations? Should I get the 2 or 4 ohm sub.... Also I was planning on getting the arc fd600.1 to power the sub. Does anyone have any other options i should take a look at? Thanks for your help.

You will need to match up voice coil impedance to the amp you choose.

You could get a 4 channel, such as a Crescendo 1000c4, and bridge channels 3/4 to the sub.

If you do want separate amps, which can be easier in the long run for upgrades, new equipment, etc., the AQ750 could be a decent choice.

thanks for the quick response. If I wire that AQ750 at 1 ohm would it matter which sub i chose? (2ohm vs 4ohm?) Sorry im a noob to this lol

I could sell you a massive n2 800 watts rms at 1 ohm and efx 4 channel 100 watts rms x 4 for 380 shipped for both that should do nicely. And you'll still have room for the rear deck speakers

So I should get the 2ohm version and connect it in parallel to match it with the aq750 at 1ohm = 1000w right?
DVC 2 ohm (which means two 2 ohm coils per sub) you would wire them in parallel to give you a 1 ohm load, giving you the 750rms @ 1% THD.

DVC 2 ohm is pretty safe for single sub setups. However, if you got something such as a AQ1200, you could give a DVC 4 ohm sub 800rms @ 2 ohm, and then if you added another DVC 4 ohm subwoofer later, you could run the pair @ 1 ohm with 1200rms.

Just food for thought. Also, there are many used option in the classifieds that could work.

I think I would go with the AQ750. I dont have any plans to add a second sub in the future.

Does this sound like a decent setup....

CTX65CS on an ARC FD2200

and

SA12 2ohm on a AQ750? or Should I save up a little more and get an ARC FD600.1?

The Arc FD2200 would work. I have a couple 2 channels lying around if you want other options.

Also, the AQ offers a bit more power for less, however the Arc is also a nice amplifier. It would match your potential 2 channel as well.

Personally, I would get the AQ if price is a consideration. I had great luck with an AQ1200d for a while. Stayed cool, never had issues, came with a convenient clipping indicator.

Lastly, you will want a DVC 2 ohm to wire to 1 ohm for either of these amps.

Awesome thanks for your help man. Yea price is my biggest factor at the moment. Audioque is a solid brand though? Ive read nothing but good things about arc amps but if audioque has a good reputation I would like to save that money and get a little bit more power you know?

I've had no issues with their amplifiers, and many people will testify to that. Regardless the brand, I recommend doing a quick Google search and see for yourself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also, "Awesome thanks for your help man." There's a button for that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
