When I was in my teens I had a system in my car that was so loud you could here me coming down the street. It was all base. Now being almost 40 I'm trying to get back into it. This time I want a nice balanced sound, crisp and clear. My dad passed away recently and while he wasn't into car audio, he was into home theater and anything sound so I feel in some way this is helping me connect with him. I've got a '12 f150 that I recently put Focal components upfront and Focal 2way in the rear. I found some old school amps at a pawn shop. One being a PG zx450 and am thinking of getting the PPI a600.2 art series for my sub.

What you thought was loud back then is easy now. Welcome back, the hobby has so much new stuff that's so much better than it was. Some are still nostalgic and won't let go.
